Why Do Ethnicities Clash?
Nationality is the identity with a group of people who share legal attachment and personal allegiance to a particular country (does not have to be a place with territory....example: The Kurds, The Cherokee Nation, etc.)
Sometimes nationality and ethncitiy can be interchanged to mean the same thing. For example, there are many countries that only have one type of ethnicity and nationality within the land. For example, people who are French are from France. They all have a common allegiance to the country of France. Places that have the same nationality and ethnicity within a territory is also called a NATION-STATE.
Many nation-states have SELF DETERMINATION where they have the desire to rule themselves in their own territory. Many ethncities who have won independence from a former European country or Soviet Union have fought for self determination of their ancestrial lands.
Nationalism unites people using CENTRIPETAL FORCES.
