The beginning of settlements followed the same timeline of agricultural development. Many settlements provided specialized services to help the settlement development.
Early Personal Services
Many people prepared their own homes and had specialization within their homes to help with survival.
Early Public Services:
Many public servants in early settlements were fighters and protectors of the settlement. Walls were built to protect a settlement from invaders.
Early Retail and Producer Services:
Many people in early settlements sold surplus of food, fish, meat, and other speciality items made in cottage industries. Some of the first retail areas were open markets witin the settlement.
