Rich or poor?
Imagine that the girl in front of you has the latest designer purse. Do you think she is rich, why or why not? Imagine the guy next to you has worn out shoes with holes in them. Do you think he is poor, why or why not? What makes someone wealthier than you? How do you rate the wealth of people?
Rating the wealth of countries is similar to rating the wealth of people. Below are the main factors used to rate countries; you may be familiar with some of them. To help you remember what each word means, click on the picture and drag it to the definition that fits the picture the best.
In this lesson, you will research information on 5 countries and determine the standard of living of each one. As a researcher, you will then rank those countries from the lowest to highest standard of living.
